Today’s VetPartners Member Spotlight shines on Amy Grice, President of Amy Grice VMD MBA LLC. Amy has been a VetPartners member since 2019. Read on to learn more about Amy.
How do you help veterinary professionals?
I help with transitions of ownership, opinions of value, strategic planning, financial projections, and other solutions for private practitioners, serve as a speaker to educate others about veterinary business topics, and address the challenges of equine practices through market research and service to the AAEP. I seek to be a servant leader, using my skills to help others.
What sets you apart from your competitors?
I primarily serve small equine practices, a cohort that makes up the majority of equine practices. My experience as a practitioner for over 25 years gives me a unique understanding of the challenges and opportunities of equine practice. I champion young veterinarians and host regional networking and business education groups for those early in their careers.
Why do you do what you do?
I loved my career as an equine veterinarian, and learning about business concepts when I earned my MBA created an evangelistic fervor to share this knowledge with other veterinarians. I want to help them have more satisfying lives and more successful practices. Recognizing the challenges currently facing the equine veterinary industry, I also seek to create new paradigms in practice.
How did you first get started in the industry?
I was an ambulatory equine veterinarian and managing partner of a large equine referral practice for over 25 years. I pivoted to consulting after earning my MBA and recognizing the need for increased business acumen among equine veterinarians. I began writing educational articles for EquiManagement, speaking, and consulting. My success in helping veterinarians have better lives has been deeply satisfying.
What pets do you have in your family?
I have five horses, three Quarter Horses and two Thoroughbreds. I enjoy trail riding in the mountains of Montana, where I moved in 2015 from Rhinebeck, NY. I also have two young dogs, a Beagle “Clara” and a Border Collie “Paige”, and a Russian Blue cat named “Abraham”.
