"2020 Vision"

February 12 - 14, 2020

The 2020 VetPartners Annual Meeting was a smashing success!  The Program Committee put together a great program, which included lively panel discussions, a keynote speaker with workshop component, and a technology workshop. You will inspired with a new perspective and concrete tools to move you forward. Come prepared to dive deep and produce the results you want and need!

State of the Veterinary Technician

A premier event at the meeting will be a two hour examination of the state of the veterinary technician. Please join us as we first understand what it means, legally and professionally, to be a credentialed veterinary technician. Following this introduction will be a robust panel discussion exploring the challenges in fully utilizing credentialed technicians, the financial, pet health and cultural benefits of appropriately leveraging credentialed technicians and why credentialed veterinary technicians are leaving the veterinary profession in droves. Join us in an active brainstorming session about how we can reverse this trend and retain these critical team members in veterinary hospitals.

Moderator:  Sandy Walsh, PetOps, LLC

Panelists: Mary Berg, Beyond the Crown Veterinary Education; Cindy Barnes, Shepherd Software; Linda Markland, Nationwide; Heather Prendergast, Encore Vet Group; Kenichiro Yagi, Cornell University

A Look at the Ownership and Stewardship of Veterinary Practice Data: Views From the Players, the Lovers, the Doubters

Data is still a hot topic. From simple appointment reminders to the use of artificial intelligence in diagnostics, there are many possibilities for the use of data in our industry. But the use of data is not without controversy. Questions are frequently raised around the ownership of data and what it’s being used for. In this session we’ll gather experts from the veterinary practice data ecosystem — Practice Information Management Systems (PIMS) manufacturers, Data Integrators, Vendor Partners, and the practices themselves — to talk about what’s happening today and where we might go from here. This will be an interactive session with ample opportunity for audience participation.

Moderator:  Martin Traub-Werner, VetSuccess

Panelists:  Jono Brooks, Animal Care Technologies; Peter Weinstein, SCVMA; David Strauss, PetWell Partners; Julien Renard, Vetstoria
