Today’s VetPartners Member Spotlight shines on Tera Eddleman, Accounting and Financial Consultant at Summit Veterinary Advisors. Tera has been a VetPartners member since 2015. Read on to learn more about Tera.
How do you help veterinary professionals?
I teach veterinarians how to read their financial statements and how to use them as tools to manage their practice. I also work with the people responsible for keeping the books to make sure that the numbers are recorded accurately. If their financial story is not a good one, I help them with processes and systems to improve them.
Why do you do what you do?
I LOVE to help veterinarians! They are passionate about helping animals, and I am passionate about helping them run their business so they can continue to help animals. For most practice owners, the practice is their livelihood, their babies, their whole world, so helping them manage something so important to them is very rewarding!
How did you first get started in the industry?
I did public and corporate accounting initially. After starting my family, I tried to be a stay-at-home mom. I quickly realized I missed accounting. I found my home in the veterinary industry when I became a staff accountant for a large equine hospital. It provided me with a great work-life balance and filled my servant’s heart by helping passionate veterinarians.
What’s your all-time favorite band or musician?
Mercy Me, without a doubt. Their faith-filled songs, both serious and fun, have gotten me through many difficult moments in my life and have also helped me celebrate the wonderful moments. I love how their music touches my soul and reaches multiple generations and all kinds of music lovers alike!
