How do you help the veterinary profession?
I help veterinary teams understand the importance of good oral health for their patients. The whole team is involved in my training to ensure that every one from the CSR to kennel staff understand how vital a healthy mouth can be for their patients.
What sets you apart from your competitors?
I provide personalized veterinary dental training that is educational and fun. The goal is to assist the veterinary team in elevating their skills and confidence in performing professional dental procedures, to give teams the tools to promote the message of good oral care to their clients resulting in healthier patients and enhance the hospital’s communication, efficiency, effectiveness and success.
Why do you do what you do?
In practice, I could help a a few animals a week by providing good dental care. By teaching teams in the value of good oral health and training them to provide more efficient and effective procedures, I am helping thousands of pets get better dental care.
What’s your most memorable experience in the industry?
During my days as a dental researcher, a study evaluating abrasion of a toothbrush had been designed using porcine mandibles. I mentioned that is was unrealistic to evaluate abrasion on non-living tissue? Within days, we were anesthetizing 300 pound hogs and brushing their teeth! The only plus is the study made the front page of the Wall Street Journal!
