2024 is nearly over, but veterinary professionals looking to fit in some last-minute CE still have plenty of options. Whether you’re looking to improve your business acumen, brush up on general practice topics, or explore specialty surgery and ophthalmology, there’s a conference to meet your needs. Although the next VetPartners conference isn’t until next February, you’ll likely find another interesting option on our list. (And, the VetPartners Community Connections Committee plans meet-ups at many industry gatherings, so you can still connect with your fellow VetPartners members!)

Here’s a detailed look at the veterinary conferences closing out 2024.

ACVO conference

October 23–26, 2024

If you are interested in veterinary ophthalmology, the ACVO (American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists) conference is the place to be. This veterinary conference is held in a different location each year and provides an in-depth look at the latest treatments and procedures in veterinary ophthalmology. ACVO also offers a unique opportunity to engage with specialists in their element—out “in the wild.” Plus, Savannah’s unique lowcountry charm can’t be beaten.

ACVS Surgery Summit

The ACVS Surgery Summit is a must-attend event for veterinary surgeons and those looking to refine or advance their surgical skills. ACVS welcomes all veterinary professionals and covers the latest surgical research and education through hands-on labs, interactive seminars, poster presentations, and an exhibit hall. Surgery lovers will find something interesting around every corner. Technician-specific surgery tracks are included, too.

NAVC HiVE

November 23–24, 2024
Anaheim, California

The NAVC HiVE veterinary conference offers veterinary nurses and practice managers fresh perspectives and experiences beyond the typical vet-focused CE event. HiVE focuses on professional development, career growth, personal well-being, and practical skills to become the best version of yourself. Plus, these conferences won’t break the bank, and they take place on weekends, so they more easily fit into your busy schedule.

AAEP Annual Convention

The AAEP Annual Convention is the world’s largest gathering of equine veterinary practitioners. This year marks the 70th annual meeting and offers three and a half days of CE covering more than 20 topics and the opportunity to meet with equine industry leaders and visit more than 300 booths on the expo hall floor. Best of all, the convention is held in sunny Orlando, so you can briefly escape gloomy winter weather.

2024’s final quarter is packed with top-tier veterinary conferences, each offering unique educational opportunities and perspectives, so one is sure to suit your needs and interests.
