Student Debt - Issues and Resources
These materials have been compiled by the Career Development Committee of VetPartners in order to provide a variety of information on the issue of student debt to anyone who might find them useful.
Rising student debt is having an impact on the veterinary profession in many ways, including the profitability of the private practices that employ younger veterinarians, the purchase and sale of practices and the amount of business education students need to enable them to be productive as new graduates. In turn, there are many people, from veterinary school faculty to lending organizations, veterinary organizations and practice consultants who may have an influence on solving the problems high student debt can cause.
These resources look at this issue from several different angles. There are several published articles, as well as PowerPoint presentations from the January 2009 Elephant in the Room sessions at The North American Veterinary Conference. We hope you’ll find them useful.
